It's hard to explain to you in words how much fun we had with this Senior. When we heard this grad-to-be wanted his session to take place in the urban streets of Minneapolis, we could hardly contain our excitement! Oh, the possibilities were endless! There was many times where "K" heard us say, "okay, just one more and then we will move to our next location. Oh wait, come over here for a sec. And OMG, we have to shot in this spot . . .", but through it all "K" stayed positive and followed every direction.

The world is this boy's stage . . . and we think he is going to rock it!

Lately, we Friends have been capturing young families. But just this past week, we had the privilege to photograph a family who actually had teenage kids. We were so excited to work with a family that sees the importance of photographing your family at all stages. So many families stop taking photos when kids turn school age. But are young kids really more important than teenage or grown kids?! We think not!

This family was so sweet we could hardly take it.

Let me tell you, this mama knows how to raise young men . . . polite and willing to take direction without any eye rolls! Unbelievable!

And . . . did I mention that they like to have fun together?

The cherry on top of this handsome family was their adorable dog, Scout.

I promise this family is real! Honest!

boys + trains = good times

How can you make three young boys behave while trying to snap hundreds of pictures of them? You take them to a train! But, you don't go there first . . . you tell them about the train . . . you show them the train . . . but then you tell them we are going to take a few pictures first and then go play on the train (we are not above bribery at My Friends Photography). Worked like a charm ;) They sat still, they smiled, and pretty much did what ever I said . . .













and then the sweet, sweet reward.

One thing is for sure . . . when you have three boys under the age of four, life is going to be busy. Then you add the fact that the two youngest are twins, and you got yourself a potent little kiddie-cocktail on your hands (and maybe even a big-people cocktail in your hands).

We had so much fun chasing this little family around the park . . . oh, and did we mention that they are all A.DOR.A.BLE. That also adds into the "fun factor" of this family. Here are just a few snaps from their session.

Beyond Beautiful

We had the pleasure of taking E's Senior photos this past weekend. She was not only beautiful and stylish, but she was willing to basically do everything we asked of her . . . including climbing up on (very dirty) trains, being carted all over Grand Forks, North Dakota, and even trudged through a field of tall grass which we were sure was harboring some little critters.

Throughout the photo shoot, we were continually impressed by E's spirit and personality. She has all the main ingredients for being a fabulous young woman!

We at My Friends Photography are always trying to stay current on all the new "photography trends". Some photographers are starting to do something called a "Styled Photo Shoot" where there is a specific theme incorporated into the photos. For these shoots, many different props are used as well as coordinating wardrobe selections.

We recently tried a few different themes with two adorable "BFF's" and this was the fruit of our labor:

What? You've never washed your tutus in the woods, hung them up to dry, and then caught up on some light reading with your best friend when you were six years old? You're missing out.

A Day in the Park

We were happy to have the privilege of following this adorable little family around University Park in Grand Forks, North Dakota this past weekend . . . did I mention we will travel to fit all of your photography needs?!

I couldn't help but smile behind the lens of my camera as this young family interacted with each other as if I wasn't even around . . . and when I heard them talking to each other in this mother's beautiful native language (Portuguese) . . . all I could do was melt.

The best part of the photo session was the fun this family had together . . . mom and "E", dad and "E", then all together - honestly, it was just a day in the park.

Please enjoy some of the fun we had this Memorial Day Weekend. In my eyes, last weekend was the perfect combination of "business and pleasure".
